I've just finished assigning 3 kids assignments for the whole year and these are some suggestions that would have made my life easier:
1. The ability to copy assignments after they're placed in the calendar, to another student exactly as they're in the calendar, and then have the option to make adjustments (days scheduled, especially).
The ability to batch unassign (or make adjustments). I used the undo a LOT. But if it's something I realize later that I need to change (for example, I want to do this on MTR, not MWF), I have to unassign every.single.assignment.
I use a lot of Ambleside Online and other things that I schedule by the week, as in the child needs to read these pages at some point during the week--they choose when. I assign it for 5 days in the lesson plan. Yet, when it gets off in auto-assign because of Labor Day, for instance, the rest of the weeks are messed up (understandably). It wants to schedule it for 5 days so it goes through the weekend and into Monday. Fine. I change that particular week of Labor Day to only go through the Friday. But the next week still is starting on Tuesday. I bump assignments backwards 1 day, which is great. However, it keeps the ending date for the assignment the next Monday. So, now even though in the lesson plan it's scheduled for 5 days, it's now spanning 8 days (Monday through the next Monday). And then there's overlap between all the plans. I then have to go through my entire year and manually adjust starting and ending dates for every assignment. I wish when I bumped assignments backwards it spanned the same number of days as I had originally scheduled it for. So, if I bump it back a day, the ending date is also bumped back a day. Clear as mud?
Now that the job is done, I think it will be wonderful. I love the look of the print-outs. And I finished just in time--we start tomorrow!
Thanks for your time!
